Diva Cup Review

The Diva Cup! If you've heard of menstrual cups at any point, I'm sure this brand came up. The Diva Cup is the most popular cup brand out there, and for a good reason. It is made of a luxurious feeling medical grade silicone that is about a medium resistance. The grip rings on this cup work very well and it has a hollow, short stem. It is recommended that this cup is replaced every year, but with the right care it can last you longer. The Diva Cup comes in two different sizes; model one and model two. I own the model one. If I am being honest, I did not think that this cup would work for me. It is very mainstream and I have heard that many find it too long. After using this cup for at least three cycles, It has become my favorite cup so far. I used the labia fold like I do with most of my cups, and it slid in smoothly. It opens pretty quickly after I rotate the cup. After it being a bit too long, I cut off the stem and now it fits perfectly. This cup has a capacity of 30 ml, so I can wear it a bit longer than my other cups on my heavy days which I love. All in all, this cup really surprised me and I am so happy that I have the chance to review it.

Femmycycle Teen Review

**I was sent this cup to review. All opinions are my own and are in no way influenced by the company**

The Femmycycle is unlike any other cup. It has a bulbous shape, a ring stem, and a no spill rim. It is made out of a very thin, clear, and soft silicone which makes it really easy to insert. The size of the teen is a lot smaller than I expected and has a capacity of 17. 5 ml.

I first tried the C fold with this cup but had trouble getting it to open inside of me. I then tried the Labia fold and it slid in easily. This cup has no suction holes but it still popped open easily. I recommend feeling around the base of the cup after insertion to make sure that it is open though because it did leak once for me. This cup worked great for my lighter days but on my heavy days I have to change this cup too often. The ring stem is my favorite part about this cup. It makes it super easy to remove. In my opinion the no spill rim didn't really benefit me, I still get blood on my hands either way.

I would recommend this cup to teens that have a light flow. It is really easy to use once you get the hang of it. This cup would also be good for women with a low cervix as it is a super short cup and the ring can be tucked in if need be.

JuJu Cup Review

Hello everyone! I have not posted anything in a couple of months now, so I will be making a long-awaited review of the JuJu Cup. Hopefully I will post reviews of the Diva Cup and Femmycycle soon. *This menstrual cup was sent to me for a review. All opinions are my own and are not influenced by others*

I receicved both the JuJu Cup Model 1 and 2. There is a big size difference between the two models, but I was still able to use both. I have mostly used the Model 2 as I have a heavy flow, but the smaller model works similarly.

The cups are made an almost sticky clear silicone which doesn't bother me. It is a smoothe cup that is finished nicely. The only downside to the construction of the cup are the grip rings. I found them useless. The grips are little flowers or butterflies that didn't help at all. It takes a bit longer for me to get the JuJu cups out than my other cups because of this. 

Insertion of the cups is very easy. I use the labia fold as I do with all of my cups and had no problems.   On my heavier days the Model 2 works well although I still only get a couple of hours. The Model 1 is perfect for my lighter days at the very beginning and end of my period. 

Overall, I am happy with these cups and would recommend them to all women. They are made out of quality materials and make your period all that more bearable. 

What I Wore This Month

The month of March has been pretty hectic. School is ending soon so a lot of work has been piled up on us - not to mention my 17 day period this cycle. It was pretty heavy most of the time so I wore most of the cloth pads pictured above twice. I did go to the doctor and everything seems fine. If I have another cycle like this I will probably go on birth control.

I wore 10 heavy cloth pads. 6 made by me, 3 made by Pad Thai Cloth and 1 made by Yurtcraft
I wore 8 regulars. 5 made by me, 2 made by Pad Thai Cloth and 1 made by Yurtcraft.
I also wore 4 lights and 6 liners which were all made by me.

I used almost all of my cups this cycle and I will have a JuJu cup review up soon. I used my JuJu cup Model 1 and 2, Lunette Model 1, Femmycycle Teen, and my MeLuna Medium.

JuJu Cup First Impression

Today, I received two JuJu cups in the mail. They only took a week and a half to ship from Australia. Amazing customer service as they responded quickly and answered all of my questions.

These cups are made from 100% medical grade silicone. It is the sticky type of silicone, which is new to me but I am excited to see how it differs from other cups. There are three cup bag choices; pink, green, and blue. You are able to choose your bag at checkout. The JuJu cup comes in two sizes. Model 1-recommended for women who have not had a vaginal birth. Model 2- recommended for women who have given vaginal birth.

The Model 2 is quite a bit bigger than the Model 1 JuJu cup. The Model 1 has a capacity of 20ml and a diameter of 40mm while the Model 2 has a capacity of 30ml and a diameter of 46mm. Although it probably cannot be seen through the camera, the Model 1 cup seems to be clearer than the Model 2. These cups both have a medium resistance.

The box that the JuJu cups come in blows any other cup company away. It is creative, fun to open, and 100% recyclable. The cups are also cruelty free and Australian made and owned.

I am so excited to try out these two cups- especially their Model 2 for my heavier days. Once I have used these cups for a couple of cycles, I will be posting a review. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to ask. Thank you! 

Why I use RUMPs

Now there are many reasons why I have decided to use reusable menstrual products. I am only fourteen, and I probably am the only girl in my school who has decided to sway from disposable products. I first learned about rumps from preciousstarspads, a very informative YouTube channel run by Bree. From the very start, I knew that disposables weren't for me. The pads often gave me a rash and tampons left me feeling gross. Why would I want to use products that irritated me? Once I started using my menstrual cup everything changed. I didn't have to worry about leaking or being uncomfortable anymore. My period isn't an inconvenience, I still get cramps, but apart from that it isn't unbearable. I would choose rumps over disposable products anyday and definitely recommend them to anyone with problems with traditional sanitary products.

This has been going around the reusable menstrual products community for a while now so I decided to make one for myself. Here is what I wore this month.

2 Menstrual Cups - One small classic clear Meluna with regular stem, One medium classic purple Meluna with ball stem (will review after next cycle)

I did use pads most of this cycle because it is my first cycle using better pads. I have used hand stitched pads in previous cycles but I really wanted to try out many of my newer pads that I have made and bought. The Yurtcraft pads can be found on Etsy. Thank you.
